Description
HASTALLOY - B2
Nickel-molybdenum alloy strengthened by solid solutionHastelloy B2 is resistant to reducing environments like hydrogen chloride gas, sulfuric, acetic, and phosphoric acids. It also has good resistance to corrosion, which is caused by acids like sulfuric, sulfuric, acetic, and phosphoric. When you mix molybdenum with other metals, you get a lot of corrosion resistance in environments that are very acidic or sulfuric. As welded, this nickel steel alloy can be used because it doesn't produce carbide precipitates in the weld heat-affected zone.
In the mill annealed state, nickel alloys are ductile, can be formed and welded, and can withstand stress corrosion cracking in chloride-bearing solutions. This is the same as with other nickel alloys. Besides that, it can also stand up to fluoride-containing materials and concentrated sulfuric acid. Hastelloy B-3 is a nickel-molybdenum alloy that is resistant to pitting, corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. It also has better thermal stability than alloy B-2, which has the same properties.
