Description
Inconel - 625
The nickel-based superalloy Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) has outstanding oxidation and corrosion resistance. It also has excellent strength and fatigue qualities over a wide range of temperatures, and it can be welded and brazed with relative ease. It is widely employed in a variety of industries, including chemical, nuclear, and marine. Airframe and jet engine components, as well as main engine components for the space shuttle, are all used in the aerospace industry.
The use of heat exchanger and pressure vessel components in chemical processing is an example of other possible uses. Due to a high concentration of chromium and molybdenum in the material, Inconel 625 has outstanding corrosion-fatigue strength. Additionally, IN 625 has a fairly high tensile strength, moderately good creep resistance, and excellent resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, among other characteristics.
