Description
NICKEL-200
Nickel 200 (UNS N02200/W.Nr. 2.4060 and 2.4066) is 99.6% wrought nickel. It has good mechanical properties and is very resistant to a lot of corrosive environments. Other things that make the alloy useful are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content, and low vapour pressure. These other things make the alloy useful. Nickel 200 is very resistant to corrosion, which makes it great for keeping food, synthetic fibres, and caustic alkalis clean. It also works well in structural applications where resistance to corrosion is important.
Other uses include chemical shipping drums, electrical and electronic parts, aerospace and missile parts, and other parts for planes and rockets. Nickel 200 is a solid solution-strengthened, commercially pure, wrought metal that has good mechanical properties and is resistant to corrosion, but it is not very strong. It is also very resistant to caustic alkalis in different concentrations and at different temperatures, which is very important. However, the corrosion resistance in de-aerated acid is better than in acid with a lot of air in it. People who make alloys like this one have very little gas in them, and they also have very high thermal and electric conductivities.
