Description
Inconel - 690
It is a is a corrosion-resistant high-temperature atmospheric alloy made of nickel and chromium. It is resistant to a wide range of corrosive water and high-temperature environments. Beyond its corrosion resistance, alloy 690 has good strength, a high level of metallurgical stability, and good fabrication abilities, among other things. The alloy has a lot of chromium in it, which makes it very resistant to oxidising chemicals and to oxidising gases at high temperatures.
In a variety of applications involving nitric acid or nitric/hydrofluoric acid solutions, the qualities of INCONEL alloy 690 are advantageous to employ. Examples include tail-gas reheaters used in nitric acid manufacturing, as well as heating coils and tanks for nitric/hydrofluoric solutions used in pickling stainless steels and reprocessing nuclear fuels, among other applications.
