Description
Inconel - 600
It is also called as UNS N06600. It can be used at temperatures from cryogenic to 2000°F (1093°C) and for corrosion-resistant service. Alloy 600 is a nickel-chromium-iron alloy that can be used in many different ways. Because the alloy has a lot of nickel in it, it will be almost completely resistant to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking while also being resistant to many organic and inorganic compounds. Oxidizing environments at high temperatures or in media that are acidic or corrosive can't damage the chromium content. It also resists sulphur compounds
At high temperatures, oxidation and scaling can't damage Alloy 600. It can reach temperatures of up to 2000 °F (1093 °C).It is good for things that need to be resistant to carburization or in sulfur-containing environments at moderate temperatures. There are times when it gets sulfidation when it gets hot. A metal called Alloy 600 is not magnetic and can only be hardened by cold working, not by heat treatment, so it can't be used to make things stronger. It can be easily welded and made into other things with standard shop fabrication methods
