Description
NIMONIC-80
NIMONIC® alloy 80 is a wrought nickel chromium alloy with age-hardening properties (UNS N07080/W. Nr. 2.4952 and 2.4631), strengthened by titanium, aluminum, and carbon additions, and designed for service temperatures up to 815 °C (1500 °F).It is made by melting at a high frequency and casting in air in order to produce extrusion-ready forms. When forging shapes, electroslag refined material is used to refine the shape of the shape. Versions that have been vacuum refined are also available. NIMONIC alloy 80A is currently used in the manufacture of gas turbine components (blades, rings, and discs), bolts, nuclear boiler tube supports, die-casting inserts and cores, and automobile exhaust valves, among other applications.
In addition to the addition of additives such as titanium, aluminium, and carbon, NIMONIC Alloy 80 is a wrought age-hardened alloy. This product is made through the process of high-frequency melting and casting in the absence of oxygen. Similar to NIMONIC alloy 75 in appearance and properties, excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance are provided by this material. At 815°C (1500°F), the creep rupture and tensile properties are very good.
