Description
INCOLOY -800H
With a creep rupture strength that is significantly higher than that of Incoloy 800, Incoloy 800 H is an iron-nickel-chromium alloy with the same basic composition as Incoloy 800. In conjunction with a high-temperature anneal, the increased strength is the result of careful control of the carbon, aluminium, and titanium contents. In order to optimise stress rupture properties, the 800H modification was designed to control carbon content (0.05 to 0.10 percent) and grain size (> ASTM 5). Incoloy 800 H has undergone additional modifications to the combined titanium and aluminium levels (0.85 to 1.2 percent) in order to achieve the best possible high-temperature properties at high temperatures.
Dual-certified means the alloy has properties that are a combination of the two types. It is a controlled composition derivative of INCOLOY® alloy 800, and it is available in a variety of alloying combinations (UNS N08800). Expansion of applications has occurred from reformer tubing in petrochemical processing to bellows and flare tips in refinery service, among other things. The material has also been used in power generation for superheater and reheater tubing. This material has also been used to great effect in heat treatment retorts, muffle jigs, and fixtures.
