Description
INCOLOY -800HT
INCOLOY® Alloy 800HT® is a controlled composition derivative of INCOLOY® alloy 800H (UNS N08810) and is used for the same creep resistant applications, however the combined effects of mechanical and thermal processing of the alloy permit higher design stresses to be incorporated than are permitted for the conventional alloy. Both materials remain available, subject to commercial considerations, and certain specifications which restrict the service temperature of some grades of INCOLOY® alloy 800H.
Incoloy Alloy 800HT applications have extended from petrochemical processing reformer tubing, to bellows and flare tips in refinery service. In power generation, superheater and reheater tubing has also employed the material. Heat treatment retorts, muffles jigs and fixtures have also used this material to great effect Alloy 800HT has excellent creep strength at temperatures above 1290°F (700°C). If the application involves frequent temperature excursions under 1290°F (700°C) or parts of are permanently exposed to a temperature below 1290°F (700°C), Alloy 800H should be utilized. The high temperature resistance of Alloy 800HT is comparable to Alloy 800H. It also remains stable in long term high temperature service .
